Cast and Characters

Leon (Christian) - Leon is one of the key characters in the film. His appearance is to give the audience an antagonist view of him. He helps do this by his costume which is caual wear, that of a working class person and this style helps the audience with the setting of the film. Also by his style of walk and the respect that is shown to him from other characters of the same style.
He wears his hood up to cover his face which is not seen at any point during the film opening and gives the audience a fearful view of him. The audience have got no idea about what this character is like so it helps create enigma during the opening on where he is heading to or what he is going to do.


Jay (Anthony) - Jay is another one of the key characters in the film. His costume is still casual wear but has more of a middle class look to him than of a working class look like Leon has.
Unlike Leon, Jay's face is seen a number of times throughout the film opening so he does not give as much for the audience to question about but he does create some enigma when he answers the phone call as you do not know who is on the other end and also why does he sound slightly nervous while on the phone?
Jay's dialogue during the phone call lets the audience know that he is on the way to meet someone, but who he is going to meet is the question.


Unknown character (Tom Petty) - this is a character that is just someone who is hanging around the streets but he has respect for Leon and see's him as the 'top dog' around these streets. This is shown by when he says 'alright mate' to Leon and put his hand up to shake Leon's hand.
This character is unknown to the audience and his face is also not seen so the audience wonder who this is and creates enigma.

Unknown character (Ed Clixby) - this character plays the smallest role in the film opening. All that this character does is stand at the opposite side of the street occupied by his phone in the scene that Leon and Jay meet but is to make the audience think that Jay is really on his way to meet this character.
This unknown character is also wearing casual clothing, the same as any other civillian.
He creates enigma because the audience also wonder who he is and what is he doing stood there? His big build also makes them think that he is a tough character.
