Planning - 8 Key Questions

1. Is it practical?

It is practical as we had everything needed to produce our film opening and also the locations we filmed in were easy to gain access to.

2. Is it and idea that works to the strengths of the group?

It is as our group is small, it only has 2 people in it and we both enjoy the genre of film that our film opening is. Also we share similar interests and get on very well so it is easy to agree on what we want to do.

3. Will it show off the skills you have learnt so far on the course?

We have learnt a number of different skills and techniques so far on the course and our film opening will let us show most of what we have learnt so far such as different camera angles and shot types.

4. Is it something you can reasonably shoot and edit in the time available?

As the film opening is only around 2 minutes in length then it shouldn't take any longer than just a few hours to film and another few hours to edit.

5. Can you get access/permission to shoot in the chosen location at the chosen time?

We filmed in what is a public area so it was easy to gain acces to our location and no permission was needed.

6. Can you organise lighting to use in that location?

The lighting in our film was natural lighting so we did not need to organise how the lighting was to be set as the lighting we used was from the street lights.
However, in the first scene, it was filmed inside so we used a lamp to help the audience to focus on the props that were picked up by Leon.

7. Have you included dialogue?

We have included very little dialogue in the film opening and it is only in one of our scenes. All that is said is 3 very short sentences by the charcter Jay while he is on the phone.

8. Do you have guarenteed high quality, reliable actors to play the characters?

We have 4 actors in our film opening and 2 of these are the group members so obviously Anthony and I are reliable as we wish to get the filming done. The other 2 actors, Tom Petty and Ed Clixby, are also reliable as they agreed to play a part in the film and they are also good friends of ours so they wish to help us on completing the task.
